The fact that a woman killed her 39-week-unborn child, who was fully developed, practicing his smile, chewing his umbilical cord, and stretching his arms, legs, and fingers, does not surprise me. I am surprised, and happy, that Britain has found her guilty of a crime against her child, sentencing her to eight years in prison for her actions.

We read in the story that she has refused to disclose where she buried the remains of her boy after she procured abortifacients and ended her pregnancy. We learned that this is her second abortion, the first with her husband, this one with a man she had an extramarital affair with, though she has a husband and two children at home.

Look at this behavior. She was victimized originally when her husband, and possibly other family members, helped guide her to get her first abortion. Then, she cheats on her family with her affair with another man. She procures another abortion to hide her cheating. Then, she hides the body of her baby boy. We are witnessing a mental breakdown of a woman brought on by the culture of death. Today’s society spouts promiscuity, contraception, pornography, and abortion as our new normal. So, one should think, the newest new normal should be insanity and murder.

Last night, I caught a glimpse of the reality TV show, Teen Mom. In this scene I saw, a girl tells her friend that she is pregnant. Her friend has nothing good to say, but only gives her all the stresses and worries she will have when having a child so young. She asked her pregnant friend, “What are you going to do?” Me, being so ignorant – maybe innocent – to today’s societal beliefs, thought the girl was asking her friend if she was going to quit her job, quit school, get married, reorder her finances, move back in with her parents, etc. Instead, the pregnant girl’s response was, “I think I’m going to keep it.”

My stomach lodged in my throat at this. I had no idea that that was even an option, to keep or not to keep, how is that a question? Abortion, for many young people, is a typical medical option, just as any elective procedure. This kind of apathy to know what is right and wrong is the very foundations of hell. To not know God and morality, and to be steeped in immorality as a way of life is the very essence of hell, and all those who blame others and circumstances for their lives should blame no other but themselves.

If we looked further into the story of this woman in Britain who killed her full-term child, we might find that she and her husband had extramarital sex before marrying, or a promiscuous young life, or cohabitation before marriage, and so forth. This behavior of hers began with smaller, more inconsequential (as some would think) actions.

Another disturbing factor to all this is the liberal media and agenda that are now out with their pitchforks and torches against the judge who sentenced this woman. In the liberal mind, abortion of a full-term child is a basic human right of the mother (ignoring of course any human rights for the child).

I suppose one of these liberals, with their wicked taste for life, might listen more if we open down the street Planned Animalhood, where people can bring in their dogs and cats to have their puppies and kittens aborted. Then, possibly, these crazed liberals will understand how horrible abortion is, since they are more interested in saving animals, the turquoise humpback whale, the who-flung-dung beetle, and the cross-eyed alligator than a human baby.

I see plenty of “Keep Tahoe Blue” bumper stickers here near Lake Tahoe between Nevada and California. Many of these same people will have COEXIST stickers with all the world religion’s symbols spelling out the word. These people generally want the world to get along, the lakes to be blue, and the cross-eyed alligators protected, but not for an instant believe abortion to be immoral, wrong, or inhumane. To them, it is inhumane to the habitat of the green buck-toothed bird by lighting our fireplaces more than twice per week, but the tearing out of a human child from the womb of his mother is unquestionably right and moral.

These liberals hide under a veil of moral superiority with all their special interests and animal, tree, and lake rights and protections, but they cannot get the basics of human life right.

As G K Chesterton once cheekily said, “Let every baby be born, and drown the ones you do not want.”
